🚧 Exciting News for Route 209 Travelers! 🚧

I am thrilled to finally announce that the paving of RT209, from Price Chopper to Food Town, will begin this construction season! This much-needed project is set to be completed by October 2024.

A smoother journey is on the horizon for this highly traveled section of roadway. I know you know the section I am referring to - I have been asking for this paving for years. Between this section, and last year's work on RT209 from Marshalls Creek to Eagle Valley, we are seeing long-overdue investments. Thank you for your patience and I will keep you informed on any updated related to this project. 🛣️

This week, SB945 voted on final passage! This will be my first law as your state Senator and as majority chairwoman of the Senate’s local government committee. SB945 would consolidate the county code to make it more efficient and accessible. This is a culmination of dedicated work by the Local Government Commission, CCAP, and PSAECO. Of course, thank you to my committee’s executive director as well, Mary. 🙂

This proposal passed the House and Senate unanimously, and should be signed into law in the coming weeks. 🎉

Earlier this week, I sat as a panelist at PA State Association of Township Supervisors’ annual conference. As majority chairwoman of the local government committee, it is beneficial to hear directly from our township leaders and share the legislative initiatives from Harrisburg. Of course, it is always wonderful to see our township officials from the 40th district. 😁

Passed the House !!! 🎉🇺🇸 Today, Paul Miller’s Law (SB37), passed the PA House with bipartisan support - this is a milestone in the several years I have worked on this bill. Pictured is Eileen Miller - Paul’s mother and champion for this legislation. Also pictured is Rep. Ed Neilson, another champion and the House Transportation Chairman. Thank you both for your invaluable work.

SB37 would limit the use of handheld cell phone use while operating a vehicle - drivers can still use their phone, as long as they utilize “hands-free” technology (Bluetooth, speaker, etc.)

The bill must go back to the Senate for a concurrence vote before it heads to the Governor’s desk.

Meet Rosemary Brown

Northeast Pennsylvania has been my home since I was five; my husband, Joe and I, have raised our three children here and are grateful to live in the beautiful Pocono Mountains to enjoy the unique opportunities this portion of our state has to offer.

The foundation of my life has always been centered around God, my family, and doing my best each day. While I never promise perfection, I do promise hard work and care for our community with an extremely grateful spirit. This is how I truly try to live my life, but it also makes me a better public servant for you.
